ASAP President Anne Weismann Announces the 2012 ASAP Scholarship Program
Deadline June 15, 2012
ASAP President Anne Weismann takes great pride in announcing the Diane Flores Korwin Scholarship program for 2012. All ASAP members in good standing are encouraged to review the information and support student efforts by sponsoring a student to write a 500 word essay on "Why the FOIA Matters to Them." The deadline for essay receipt by ASAP is June 15.
President Weismann would like to thank Scholarship Committee Chair Jeffrey Parrillo and members Carmen Mallon and Joel D. Miller for taking an exhaustive look at procedures and criteria. Their recommendations that were approved by the Board at its April 19 meeting help broaden the scope of interest beyond the FOIA to information access and privacy. Additionally, several procedures were revisited and strengthened.
NEW! Scholarships may be awarded to one undergraduate level student (sophomore, junior or senior) and/or one graduate level student.
For 2012, ASAP has budgeted for two scholarships at $1,000 each.
