ASAP 2013 National Training Conference Update

During a special teleconference meeting on July 23, the ASAP Board of Directors voted to concentrate efforts for the 2013 National Training Conference solely in the Washington, D.C. area. Efforts are focused on two hotels that have offered dates to ASAP for the time frames of: April 8-10, April 22-24, April 29-May 1 and May 13-15. Staff is working with both hotels to determine the best fit for the ASAP training conference and best pricing options. A decision is anticipated when the board meets on September 20. This is a departure for this training program that was designed to bring training “beyond the Beltway.” However, with travel cutbacks and the current environment surrounding agency participation in training programs and conferences, the board felt that the only viable option of possibly sustaining a successful training opportunity was to hold it where the greatest concentration of federal agencies are located.
