Dear ASAP Members and Colleagues,
The ASAP Board of Directors determined yesterday that, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it is no longer feasible to move the May National Training Conference to a later date in 2020. Hence, we have cancelled our May 18-20, 2020 National Training Conference.
Persons holding hotel reservations at the Renaissance Capital View or Residence Inn should cancel those rooms directly at the hotel and retain the cancellation number. This should be done immediately, as the hotel is temporarily closing. (The Renaissance can be reached at 703-413-1300 and the Residence Inn at 703-415-1300.)
The ASAP Board remains committed to providing quality training. The September 9-11, 2020 FOIA-Privacy Act Workshop in Kansas City, Missouri and the May 17-19, 2021 National Training Conference are still scheduled.
Consistent with past actions, ASAP will transfer the 2020 NTC registrations to the September Kansas City Workshop or the 2021 National Training Conference, or a future training when scheduled. Many of you have told us that once you succeed in getting training and travel funds, you don’t want to lose that opportunity. We also understand that you may not be able to make the dates, so substitutions will be allowed. For any other special circumstances, please contact the ASAP office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The published registration cancellation policy remains in force. ASAP has invested considerable time and money planning the training event and covering at least some of these costs is critical to ensure that ASAP can continue to advocate on behalf of access professionals and provide high-quality training opportunities. All cancellations must be made in writing to the ASAP office. Cancellations received by March 31, 2020 receive a refund minus a 25% administrative fee. Cancellations received by April 30 receive a refund minus a 50% administrative fee. Cancellations received after April 30 are non-refundable.
We are researching various options and the feasibility of virtual training. Another option immediately available to you are the ASAP on-demand webinars. Webinar details are at https://www.accesspro.org/training-education-programs/webinars/.
At this time, ASAP remains operational and continues to support you in your work. We look forward to bringing new opportunities to you soon.
Wishing you safety and health,
The ASAP Board of Directors
